Michelle Obama

Michelle Obama

It has been a crazy 24 hours in the fashion world, what with the ever so stylish Michelle Obama touching down in the UK, and making headlines with her on-trend ensembles, and now we're here to bring you a quick update.

Fresh from her gorgeous Thakoon coat and Jason Wu dress she wore to travel in, Mrs O met Gordon and Sarah Brown yesterday in high-street attire.

We kid you not, fashion folk. Michelle opted for a light green pencil skirt, bejewelled cardigan and a pearl choker by American designer, Britt Lintner, according to Grazia.

Looking fresh and spring-like, the stylish pieces were from US high-street giant J Crew, and she unashamedly put Sarah in the shade in her dismal navy blue dress.

For meeting the Queen last night, the fashionable First Lady wore a black and white dress, with tulle underlay by Isabel Toldeo and a black cardigan by Azzedine Alaia, according to CatwalkQueen.

She's still refusing to ditch the pearls though, and her bouffant hairstyle wasn't the best choice she's made, in our view. The outfit itself was pretty simple; where was the colour she's been sporting over the past few days?

We think the outfit needed a nice hat, or at least something to make her stand out from the crowd a little bit. Even the Queen was in pink for heaven's sake!

After three style hits, and one slight miss, what else does she have in her bag of tricks for today? Watch this space...
