Lily Allen stood out at the Brit Awards

Celebrity fashion very often leaves us with a wishlist as long as our arm, especially when they’re looking primped and preened on the red carpet. But with a selection of designer garments and plenty of people to help choose we know there’s little chance of emulating their look.

But we can imitate; especially when we have the help of Angie Smit, Venus celebrity stylist.

From sheer panels and backless numbers to princess gowns and mini dresses, revealing endless and envious legs, the ladies had it covered with glowing skin from head to toe at the Brit Awards and with the help of Angie we can imitate their stylish picks.

Angie Smith, Venus Celebrity Stylist says…

Minimalist and simple was the wardrobe of choice for the likes of pop beauty, Pixie Lott, opting for a simple, backless white dress with barely-there straps, allowing her feline smoky eye makeup to do the talking. Accessorise with your favourite clutch and co-ordinate with statement jewellery for a polished finish.

When choosing a slick statement, navy dress à la Lily Allen, feel free to play with pops of colour. I love how Lily matched her canary-yellow ponytail to her clutch bag for top style points! A relatively simple hair style, Lily has brought it into the 21st century using the latest trend of wearing brights on the hair; this can be recreated by using hair chalks or a clip in extension for a less permanent, but just as effective, splash of colour.

Patriotic Katy B was true to her nickname of ‘Little Red’, opting for the hue in her dress and lipstick. Break this look up with pops of gold in the jewellery and clutch. I also love how the stars have been showing their skin through sheer panels, showing legs and arms in a very elegant manner or going all out like Daisy Lowe, who was legs eleven in gothic-chic ! If you are going to try out a super-high hemline, make sure your legs are fully prepped and silky-smooth. For extra wow, avoid heels with ankle straps for an extra-elongated effect.

Pulling off metallic in a mini dress isn’t easy, but Laura Whitmore managed to do it with ease, allowing her dress to be the focal point. For such a dress, piece with jewellery that has a rocky edge and pair with simple heels to keep all the attention on that show-stopping number. Rosie Huntington-Whitely showed us how this should be done by going against the fuss and keeping her hair, makeup and heels simple.
