The Emmy Awards 2014 was of course a stylish affair, with celebrities clamouring to make a fashion statement and avoid the worst dressed lists of the evening.

We’ve picked out our top 7 looks that made a statement and have stuck with us through all of the good, the bad and the ugly. (Yes, we’re talking about Lena Dunham’s frou frou mess.)

Kerry Washington

Of course Kerry Washington was always going to make this list; the incredibly fashionable actress looked beautiful in her orange Prada column gown, which dazzled with blue, green and clear sequinned edges. The dress featured a front split which revealed a navy mini skirt that was adorned with crystals and pailettes.

Navy accessories complemented the outfit, as did her dark blue eye make-up and a blunt long bob rounding off the sleek look.

As ever, Kerry has us wishing we could take a snoop through her wardrobe.

Camila Alves

Camila Alves was the perfect for plus one for husband Matthew McConaughey and like always she grabbed our attention with a sleek gown and her encapsulating beauty.

Wearing a white Zuhair Murad gown the cut-out design provided a sexy touch to the look, nude lining covered her modesty of course. The scallope bateau neckline provided a feminine touch and a thing belt highlighted her small waist.

Camila played up the beauty of both the gown and her by adding diamond earrings and a sleek hairstyle to complete this stunning look.

Are you in love with this as much as we are?

Kate Walsh

Kate Walsh was easy to spot on the red carpet thanks to her brightly-hued Stephane Rolland cap-sleeved gown from the designer’s Spring 2014 Couture collection.

The sunny colour was the focal point, as was the structural peplum which fell into a beautiful train.

Chopard jewels completed this stunning look, and her diamond necklace was the perfect accompaniment.

Do you like this bold yellow shade?

Sarah Hyland

Sarah’s custom look was certainly designed with her in mind, fun, youthful and very pretty – we think this was the perfect style for the Modern Family actress.

The Christian Siriano two-piece featured a sleek white crop top paired with a beautiful ballgown red skirt. Lorraine Schwartz jewels and a pretty top knot completed this gorgeous look.

We especially love the bow-shaped earrings which add the perfect youthful edge.

Lizzy Caplan

Lizzy Caplan’s Donna Karan Atelier gown has certainly got people talking, and for all of the right reasons too. Lizzy has definitely become one of our firm favourites on the red carpet, consistently providing us with gorgeous looks to drool over, and this monochrome outfit was certainly another A+ look.

The gown needs to be seen from all angles to view the entire beauty, with cut-out details providing elegant and sexy touches.

We can’t fault this look from her sleek chignon, smokey eyes and pearl and diamond jewellery.

We suspect she’ll be at the top of many best dressed lists from the evening.

Julia Roberts

Julia Roberts usually offers up masculine tailoring or definitely black on the red carpet, and thankfully last night she shunned both. The actress looked breathtaking in her Elie Saab Fall 2014 Couture number.

The cocktail frock featured oversized beading, a peplum waist detail and a sultry plunge neckline.

Whilst we’ve always coveted her beautiful smile, we think it’s time her legs got some attention, long and toned – we definitely want that look.

Michelle Dockery

Michelle Dockery rounds off our Top 7 looks with a beautiful gown from the Rosie Assoulin Fall 2014 collection.

The Downtown Abbey actress was radiant in the cream gown which featured pops of colour through blue and green.

It’s hard to describe this beautiful look, but we know it just works on every level.

Are you loving it as much as we are?
