Rihanna looked stunning in her red gown

The Grammy Awards took place last night, and despite their being an enforced dress code, celebrities were still keen to flash some leg and some cleavage.

Katy Perry looked stunning in a mint green Gucci number which fitted her like a glove. The keyhole design showed off her incredible assets too. The dress was simple and understated, the only detail was the embellished neckline. She kept her hair long, sleek and super glossy.

There was previously a time when Katy would have turned up to this event in one of her many fancy-dress looks, but she's definitely growing up and this is obvious through her style choices.

Florence Welch also chose green, hers however a beautiful emerald shade which compliments her red locks beautifully. The Givenchy Couture gown was inspired by a dress from the Fall 2009 collection and has been altered slighty for Florence's style.

The long-sleeved gown featured a slit which came to just above the knee and showed off just the right amount of leg. The huge studs were an interesting take on the trend. Vampy lips, a braided updo and an embellished green clutch completed the look.

Jennifer Lopez should have taken style noted from Florence, as her side split looked nothing more than tacky.

The plain black Anthony Vaccarello dress looked like a sac and the side split with revealing leg was not done tastefully, at all. She wore millions of dollars of diamonds, but none of this was noticeable past the leg.

Rihanna made a huge statement, both in her red dress and the fact that she sat with Chris Brown draped around her too. She looked absolutely beautiful in her Azzedine Alaia dress. The look was quite a reserved one for the singer, but the mesh panelling and the fact she didn't wear a bra nodded to her distinct style.

Taylor Swift continued her love for white gowns, in her J. Mendel grecian style number last night. The dress was toughened up with the metallic bodice details and the smoky eye she sported. She paired the dress with a braided updo and Jimmy Choo Lance metallic sandals - beautiful.

Adele made a huge change from her love of black on the red carpet last night, in a printed Valentino dress which was shortened from the runway. I'm still not sure whether I liked the change or not. Maybe it was too bold for her first try with colour?

Kelly Rowland revved up the sex factor in her Georges Chakra Spring 2013 Couture gown. The black cut-out dress featured a tulle skirt and with the provactive mesh panels throughout the dress she looked stunning.

Beyonce's simple monochrome jumpsuit from Osman was beautiful too. I love the simplicity of the look, plus Beyonce has plenty of Diva-attitude to pull this look off. She paired it with black heeled sandals, black clutch, monochrome cuffs, worn like Wonder Woman, a bold red lip and a simple sleek low ponytail.

This was a welcome change on the Grammy Awards red carpet.
