Amy Adams wowed in blue Gucci Première

The red carpet was awash with an array of beautiful gowns at the 86th Annual Academy Awards last night, but for us there was five standout looks that have taken the best dressed top spot.

Kate Hudson

Kate completely stole the show in her Atelier Versace Spring 2014 gown, it was perfection from head-to-toe.

Old school glamour oozed from this look and with so much detail in the dress – from the train, the beading, the shoulder pads and of course the standout cape detail – she kept her accessories to a minimum with delicate pieces of jewellery, a simple clutch and loose waves styled to the side.

A clear winner in our eyes.

Lupita Nyong’o

Lupita Nyong’o was the lady we were all waiting to see hit the red carpet at the Oscars last night.

After an incredible stylish run of gowns, dresses and colour during the Awards season she certainly ended on a high in her custom Prada gown.

It was big and bold and the hue was divine against her skin. The pleated gown added only further drama with a deep v-nevk top, low cut sides and delicate crystal beading on the skirt.

The headband was a pretty touch and her Fred Leighton jewels only elevated her look further.

Congratulations on your Oscar win and your stylish red carpet run too Lupita, you’ve been flawless.

Amy Adams

Amy Adams is yet another actress who has had an incredibly run during the Awards season, whilst in previous years she’s favoured big, big gowns this season has been all about sleek gowns with beautiful, clean details.

Last night she wore another captivating navy gown, this time from Gucci Premiere.

The sapphire tuxedo-inspired gown fitted her perfectly in the bodice and the train was the perfect length to balance the look. Ruby stoned earrings made this look standout.

Julia Roberts

Julia Roberts is classic and her look at the Oscars last night was just that.

She was glowing in her Givenchy Couture black lace gown with peplum waist and v-neck detail. The peekaboo lace panelling kept this look completely on the classy side with a hint of sexiness too.

Bulgari jewels added just the right amount of sparkle to her look, but Julia let the gown speak for itself.

A truly gorgeous looks from the actress.

Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie sparkled on the red carpet in her Elie Saab Fall 2013 Couture beaded gown.

Elie Saab is the king of embellishment and once again he’s created a gown that needs little accessories or touches to make it standout. Sheer panels through the chest and arms give this long-sleeved gown a touch of sexiness and of course Angelina’s own presence further elevates this.

Brad Pitt is, of course, the only accessory a girl needs.

There were plenty of other looks that stunned on the red carpet too, who was your favourite?
