A stylist cut up Kim Kardashian's GQ Men Of The Year Awards dress to make it more revealing.

The reality star wowed everyone with her show-stopping Ralph & Russo Couture gown as she walked the red carpet at the ceremony this week, however Kim has now admitted that the original dress was much less revealing.

According to the Mirror Online, Kim shared: "I was wearing this stunning dress, but they chopped off my sleeves and wanted to show more. I'm just going with it."

The silver and black gown featured a latex body suit and a chainmail style maxi skirt with a large slit down the front, exposing Kim's tanned legs.

A spokesperson for the French design house responsible for the dress told HollywoodLife.com: "The look was custom-made for her, specifically for tonight's event. [Kim] knows exactly what she wants and she has great style, and we wanted to do something that was slightly different for her.

"She was very much involved in the final look. We wanted to create something that was unpredictable."

They also revealed that the dress was finished in just five days, when normally it could take weeks to put together.

The spokesperson added: "We started designing it four to five days ago and it was an adaptation of a catwalk piece. The team really committed and prioritized it. These pieces usually take weeks to make, but we had a quick turnaround. The skirt is entirely hand-embroidered and we had a team of four people working on it. They had to pull an all-nighter last night."
