Shawna dropped from Def Jam
The only female rapper involved in Ludacris's Disturbing tha Peace family has been dropped from their 'mother' label, Def Jam.As the label doesn't want to spend any more money marketing her and her projects, she may have to be released from her situation with DTP, if the subsidiary label doesn't find another home for their female MC.

The lack of female MC's in mainstream Hip-Hop is reducing at a rapid rate. Due to diminishing female representation the Grammy's voided the Best Female Rapper category in 2005.

The Miami rapper who burst onto the scene last year with his song 'Hustlin,' after waiting twenty years to get a major label deal Ross, born William Roberts is faced with a one million dollar law suit. Glickman also disclosed that he was threatened by the artist and another associate with 'physical and mental intimidation.' Rick Ross is expected to release his sophomore project this year, titled Trilla.

Fabolous Album to be shelved
It has been reported that the fifth studio album from Brooklyn rapper Fabolous may actually be shelved. The album,

Something from Nothing set to come out on Def Jam has been constantly pushed back over the last six months. The reason that the album may be shelved is due to the fact that the first two singles, "Diamonds On My Chain" and Make It Better" have failed to gain the airplay that one would normally expect from songs by Fabolous.

Fabolous was shot in October of 2006 leaving P Diddy's Justin's restaurant and was subsequently arrested after police found weapons in his vehicle. He is currently pending trial after bail was set at $15,000.

Lil Wayne set to work with Enrique Iglesias
The famed Hot Boy is set to work with Spanish singer Enrique Iglesias on his next record. Lil Wayne who is releasing his Carter III later this year appears on Iglesias's song Push from his forthcoming album, the singers first in four years.

Lil Wayne and his mentor Bryan 'Baby' Williams caused internet message boards and websites to go into over drive last year as a picture of the two men kissing was leaked. The two later defended the picture stating that it was just a 'father-son' kiss and replicated something similar to those shared between mafia bosses.
