The 33-year-old fashion designer - who has recently stepped down as creative director from his eponymous label earlier this year - has admitted he is "a junkie" when it comes to cosmetics products and if someone he "trusts" recommends a treatment, no matter how obscure it is, he will try it.

Speaking to ES magazine about his indulgences, he said: "Skincare is my biggest extravagance. I'm a junkie and I'll do anything if someone I trust recommends it, even if it involves pain or extremely bad smells, including blood and placenta."

Alexander has also admitted he collects "anything black and exotic", and his latest addition to his luxury belongings is a "black watersnake travel bag".

Asked about items he collects, he said: "Anything black and exotic. the last thing I added to my collection was a black watersnake travel bag."

And the businessman has revealed he has recently treated himself to Drake's 'More Life' album, which he has been constantly playing on "repeat".

He continued: "The most recent Drake album 'More Life', is on repeat . My favourite song is 'Gyalchester'.

"I was in town for a few days last summer and managed to see Drake and Skepta play Wireless festival; they were amazing. It was cool to experience such a large music festival in the middle of the city."

Alexander has admitted he always turns to fellow designer Ralph Lauren, 78, for inspiration.

He said: "Ralph Lauren is a constant source of inspiration for his ability to create a ubiquitous and encompassing world that is instantly recognisable."

But when he is looking for a fun night out he will turn to socialite Fran Cutler.

He said: "Fran Cutler hands down [is who he calls to have fun]. Everything that women says and does is entertainment. We recently had a night at Chiltern Firehouse and closed the place. "

Meanwhile, Alexander's earliest memory of being in England's capital is going on a "crazy night" out.

He said: "Going to London by myself for a summer programme at Central Saint Martins and taking the bus in the middle of the night from where I was staying to go out partying. One crazy night I went to this amazing rave in a tunnel in King's Cross."
