Julianne Moore thinks juice diets are a waste of time

Julianne Moore thinks juice diets are a waste of time, exercising is a time to let go and sunscreen is a must for everyone.

In a new interview with New Beauty magazine, the actress gave her honest opinion of the celeb-favourite juice diets plus how she likes to stay in shape.

She said: “"I did a juice cleanse for the Golden Globes one year. I think I did it for three days. To be honest, the only weight I lost was in my brain!"

Instead the 53-year-old likes to stay hydrated and healthy in a much more normal manner.

"Everyone says it, but I drink a lot of water. I also can really tell the next day when I eat too much sodium so I try to avoid it.

"I don't like noisy workouts. I tried spinning and didn't like it, it's just too loud for me.

"I do better when I am working out in quiet, which is why I like yoga. I especially like classes that don't have mirrors. It's a time to let go and let your body drop into itself."

The actress takes the time to care for her complexion by avoiding harsh sunlight after her mother instilled in her the importance of limiting her skin's exposure to the sun.

She said: "I was lucky enough to have a very fair-skinned mother who instilled in me the importance of sunscreen.

"We wouldn't go to the beach until after three o'clock and we would do things like walk on the shady side of the street to avoid the sun. People are so much careful now, but back then it was rather unusual."
