The 24-year-old model will pick up the International Award at the ceremony next month, which was set up by fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg and the The Diller-von Furstenberg Family Foundation and recognises women who have helped to transform other people's lives for the better.

And, according to WWD, the eighth annual bash will take place at the United Nations in New York on April 6, and it will award $50,00 grants to each honouree to help them expand their organisations.

The blonde beauty has been involved in a variety of projects alongside having a successful modelling career, which has led her to be selected to receive the accolade for her entrepreneurial efforts.

Karlie set up a two-week training programme for young adults named Kode With Klossy to educate budding enthusiasts on coding and how to build apps.

The catwalk icon has also partnered with Momofuku Milk Bar on a vegan and gluten-free biscuit range titled Klossies, which has seen proceeds help provide meals to over one million people who are in need.

As well as the Inspiration Award and the People's Voice Award, two additional gongs will be presented to females within the Vital Voices' Global Leadership Network who strive to enhance the social, economic and political position of women, as well as the Lifetime Leadership Award.

Meanwhile, the mogul has revealed her future goal for Kode with Klossy is to "build a community of like-minded girls" who all have an interest in technology.

Speaking previously, she said: "With Kode with Klossy what I really want to do is build a community of like-minded girls who share this passion and curiosity to learn about tech and just bringing all these like-minded ladies together - that's the goal."

Karlie has teased she is working on a new project, and although she has kept details of her upcoming venture close to her chest, she has announced it will be unveiled at the end of March.

She explained: "I am going to say, this month I am so excited to unveil this really really cool project I've been working on with my partners at Express, and it gets unveiled on 30 March in St Louis."
