The 'Sex and the City' actress - who has children James, 13, and Tabitha and Loretta, seven, with husband Matthew Broderick - is known for her smoky eye, but admits it is because she doesn't know any other way to use her cosmetics.

She said of her smoky eye: "It's all I can do! I wear Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Jungle. I wear it almost every single day of my life, even if I'm only doing dishes and wiping rear ends."

And the 51-year-old actress admits her favourite product is hard to remove - but she doesn't care if it stays on "for days".

She added: "And I don't care if it's there for days - it's doesn't move so when I wash my face at night, or if I wash my face in the shower and it doesn't come off, I do not care.

"She launched it a few years ago and before that I would use a black pencil with a really good sponge on the back end from Prescriptives - I'd break the pencil so it would fit in my purse and I could mess my eyes up with it. But when Laura came out with the Caviar Stick, everything changed.

"You have to blend it quickly, while it still has some warmth and movement in it, then it's cooked. And you just keep adding and adding.

"Jungle is my favourite but I also love Khaki, Plum and Tuxedo. I always make sure I'm well stocked."

The 'I Don't Know How She Does It' actress also admitted she doesn't have "the skills" to style her locks properly without help so doesn't do much with her hair when she isn't working.

She told Vogue.co.uk: "I use Serge Normant's shampoo and conditioner always - that's the truth and if you went to my hotel bathroom right now you'd be like, 'She's not kidding!'

"He also has a really great mask that I try to use in the summer when I'm not working as much. I use his Dream Big Instant Volumizing Spray which I go crazy for because I don't have the skills to really do hair. In my own life I just wash it and go to sleep, I have wavy hair so I use that to just give it some dirt."
