Sarah Jessica Parker is due to receive the first ever honorary CLIO award.

The 'Sex and the City' actress and international style icon's contribution to the fashion world will be celebrated with an Honorary Image Award at the high profile event held at the Pierre Hotel in New York City next month, WWD reports.

The star is set to be recognised for her "ground-breaking work and talent that push the boundaries of creativity", juggling the launch of her SJP fashion label with her best-selling fragrances and acting career.

Sarah Jessica can add the brand new award to her list of trophies, which already include a Golden Globe, Screen Actors Guild prize and an Emmy.

The 2014 CLIO Awards, which recognise the best in the beauty and fashion industries in terms of PR, marketing, design and film, will be hosted by Bravo's Andy Cohen.

Despite being hailed as a trend-setter ever since she first graced our screens as journalist Carrie Bradshaw, the 49-year-old star doesn't think of herself in that way.

She previously admitted: "No, I don't identify that way. I'm not - and I know this might sound crazy - a particularly vain person. I'm sort of embarrassed by that introspection.

"And thinking about myself makes me feel kind of like a narcissist. But, I'm aware that there is an identification outside that people have about me - good or bad - and I'm comfortable with it. It's not for me to resent what is projected; I've been part and parcel of that."
