The 44-year-old fashion designer is very "proud" to have collaborated with Adidas on the outfits for Great Britain's athletes which will be worn by the 600 competitors at the sporting showcase held in Brazil this August.

Stella - who designed the Team GB kit for the London 2012 Olympic Games - posted on Instagram: "I am so proud to have worked with @adidasUK on the 2016 Olympic Kit for Team GB and Paralympics GB. Such an honour to design for these incredible and inspiring athletes! #100DaysToGo... X Stella (sic)"

Stella - the daughter of Beatles legend Sir Paul McCartney - shared a photo on Instagram of her being flanked by bronze medallist diver Tom Daley and gold medal-winning heptathlete Jessica Ennis-Hill at the reveal held at Seymour Leisure Center in London.

The patriotic hi-tech Lycra patriotic pieces exhibit a bright colour palette, with sections of the Union Flag design subtly emblazoned on the garments, which incorporates the floral crests of each of the Home Nations, a rose, flax, leek, thistle and a lion.

Stella's goal was to encapsulate "British tradition with a modern attitude".

Replica kit from the Stella McCartney x Adidas Olympics sportswear line is available to buy and include a lightweight zip-up top, a two piece tracksuit set with the country's initials enlarged on the chest and along the side of the trouser leg, a women's Shimmel vest and women's briefs and a range of men's cycling gear.
