The Jimmy Choo co-founder has announced she is planning to tie the knot with her partner of almost four years, Michael Ovitz.

The brunette beauty, 47, confessed she was "surprised" when the 68-year-old talent agent popped the question even though he had hinted he was planning to propose.

She said: "We're engaged. In December, he surprised me with a beautiful ring. It wasn't entirely out of the blue because he kept saying, 'I've got something really important for you'."

The London-born beauty - who launched her eponymous label in 2013 after stepping down as Chief Creative Officer of Jimmy Choo in 2011 - resides in a penthouse flat on New York's Upper East Side with her daughter Araminta, 12, from her marriage to Andrew Mellon, and is in the process of renovating her and Michael's new West Side home.

She said: "We bought a house together about a month ago, in the West Village. It's a long term project - we're going to knock the whole building down and start again. We're really excited to have a project to work on together."

Tamara added she has enjoyed setting up the family's base in the US, but still feels connected to her native England.

She told HELLO! magazine: "I've always felt very at home in America and love the beat of this city.

"I've always travelled a lot, even as a child. But my home is certainly here in New York. This is our base but I feel totally connected to England and London and when I'm there, I feel like it is home."
