Kendall Jenner shows off festival style at the Khiels pop-up at Coachella

Festival season is about to kick off in the UK with Glastonbury, Lovebox and T in the Park all set to have stellar line-ups.  However, music won’t be the only thing on offer.

Festival fashion will take centre stage with regular festival fashionistas Cara Delevingne, Alexa Chung and Kate Moss all sure to turn up the heat in some trend-setting outfits.

Christine Fitzgerald, Head of Commercial for ShopStyle is here to provide inspiration and tips for the summer of festival fun.

Christine says: “Festival season is always fun; it’s a great excuse to really let loose with fashion and display your individuality. We see some looks come back year in, year out, but no one wants to look like a cliché so I recommend going online and searching for some key trend terms to find yourself something a little bit different.”

Take a look at the top six festival fashion search terms for 2014 to get the inspiration you need:

1. 90s style is still a big trend for this summer - if you can dare to wear a crop top, plaid shirt, chunky shoes and some double denim. This is a nice contrast to the usual Glastonbury hippy look.

2. Tie dye is a recurring winner. It’s a great way of adding a blast of colour to your festival wardrobe – but be sure to keep it to just one item.

3. Denim shorts are not only practical but also a great basic to work with. Kate Moss famously started this trend in 2005 with her denim shorts and Hunter boots look.

4. Headwear can make any simple ensemble on-trend. Headdresses come in a variety of guises, so choose your style and go for it.  However, if you’re not keen on this look then stick to another festival staple – hats! For this year, I would highly recommend either a classic wide brimmed hat or a printed cap to keep you cool in the heat.

5. Round sunglasses and mirrored aviators – Every festival goer must pack a great pair (or two!) of sunglasses. From classic tortoise shell to eye catching embellishments nothing quite finishes off a look as well as a pair of sunglasses.

6. White at a festival can get messy, but the classic colour is very current and can simplify any festival outfit. It will also look fab with those denim cut offs – and a glowing tan, provided it doesn’t rain at Glastonbury!
