Cate Blanchett stood out in her Armani Prive gown

There was one look that reigned supreme at the Oscars 2014 last night, and it was the nude embellished gown.

There was clearly a fashion trend taking place as a number of starlets hit the red carpet at the Academy Awards and then after parties in gorgeous gowns with intricate embellishments.

The standout look of course came from the Best Actress winner of the evening, Cate Blanchett who was glowing in her Armani Prive gown.

The whole look had a soft romantic feel from the soft cap-sleeve gown, flared tulle skirt and sequin and Swarovski crystal baguettes embroidery. To complement the gown she added a pair of dazzling Chopard earrings.

We expected a gorgeous look from Queen Cate of the red carpet, but like always she gives us more than what we’re expecting.

12 Years A Slave actress, Sarah Paulson chose a soft peach Elie Saag 3/4 sleeve gown from the Spring 2013 Couture collection for the big night. No one quite does embellishment like Mr Saab and Sarah was glowing on the red carpet.

Sally Hawkins also went down the nude embellished route with her Valentino long-sleeved gown, the only sad thing is though the dress was far too big on her and overwhelmed her petite frame. The details were beautiful though.

Jenna Dewan-Tatum went for a big, bold look at the Oscars wearing a dress my Reem Acra. It was Princess glamour at its best with a mix of sheer tulle, beading and fully ruffled skirt.

Jessica Biel also chose a nude embellished number, hers from French House Chanel. The column gown was a glimmering confection that glided over her curves and into a long train. Finished perfectly with glossy waves and Tiffany & Co. Blue Book Collection jewels.

Julie Delpy was also glimmering on the red carpet in her Jenny Packham Fall 2014 design which was inspired by the 1920’s era. A deep neckline and cinched waist highlighted her gorgeous figure and the crystal details added a luxurious touch to the look.

Inside the ceremony Idina Menzel changed from her forest green gown on the red carpet for a soft and ethereal embroidered gown from Reem Acra for her performance on stage.

Then at the after parties we saw more nude embellished gowns from Ellie Kemper wearing George Hoeibka, Kate Hudson in Zuhair Murada Spring Couture, Sofia Vergara and Petra Nemcova.
