Jodie Pilgrim, Head of Overseas Recruitment at party travel brand Party Hard Travel tells us the 10 things she looks for when recruiting party travel reps.

A passion for travel

A passion for travel

Passion for travel. Travel had always been my passion, but instead I’d gone to university to study accountancy. I’d just finished my degree and started at a big accountancy firm when I realised that it wasn’t for me. The passion for travel is either something that is in you or it isn’t.

Potential. Lots of our full time staff started out working for us part time, me included! I worked for Party Hard in Malia as a student so when I decided to ditch the accountancy I was lucky enough to be offered a full time role.

Brand ambassadors. Nowadays we’re looking not looking for the stereotypical rep but brand ambassadors who can be the face of Party Hard Travel out in resort, maintaining a good impression of the brand.

Career focused. When we started searching for the summer 18 team, we were looking for people who saw working for us as an opportunity to develop their career rather than purely a summer of partying.

Conscientious. Working in resort is brilliant fun, but there’s also a lot of responsibility. Recruitment events and presentations at universities around the UK brought in 600 applications, and 14 Brand Ambassadors for the summer 18 season.

A can do attitude. For most of the summer 18 team, this is their first real job. Gen Z get a lot of stick as being ‘snowflakes’ and are perceived as being totally unprepared for the world of work, but I have to say that I’m thrilled with the standard of applications we’ve had this year. A positive, can do attitude comes above experience every time.

A people person. With up to 500 guests to look after each week, Brand Ambassadors have to know how to build relationships with people quickly. If you’re chatting away like friends after 5 minutes in the interview, then you know they’d be fine greeting customers and helping them feel at home.

Social savvy. Our resort team take control of our local social networks, creating content and reporting from all the best events. Most of the team are aged between 18 and 22 so luckily they are pretty familiar with every social network going!

Customer focused. In the old days reps were incentivised around what they sold. To offer the best possible customer experience, our events are included for free as part of our Ultimate Events Package and our brand ambassadors are incentivised on the customer feedback that they receive.

A fun, outgoing personality. One of the perks of the job has to be the access to some of the best party events that Europe has to offer, and our summer 18 team will be right there in the very heart of them!

Party Hard Travel are offering 7 nights in Kavos from the 6th June 2018 including flights, hotel accommodation and the Party Hard Ultimate Events Package (including Future Club, Party Hard at The Zoo, Super Paint Party and more) for £315 pp. Find out more at http://www.partyhardtravel.com/
