It’s weird to think that in our childhood, an early bedtime was a punishment, but as adults we’ll take in opportunity we can to nap.
With World Sleep Day coming up next Friday, and the clocks going forward at the end of March, we wanted to celebrate all things that help us snooze.
Many of us will be excitedly anticipating the end of the month, when the clock go forward and we enter British Summer Time, meaning longer days and better weather. But with it does come the inconvenience of a shift in our rhythms.
When the clocks change, it can completely throw your body off, with night time routines having to adapt.
It has been found that people sleep in 90 minute cycles and that they should be getting around five to six of these per night.
For example, if you were to enter that you want to get up at 7:30am, the calculator will tell you that you will feel most refreshed in the morning if you go to bed at 10:16pm, 11:46pm,1:16am or 2:46am.
