A year's worth of driving virtually every supercar ever worth climbing into. Oh and while you are at it, P1 North, the supercar club, could make my dream come true by delivering a £300,000, 210mph Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren.

I need to find an available millionaire, however, as the joining fee is £2,500 and then an annual fee of either £12,500 or £14,500 will buy between 50 and 70 days driving some of the world's most desirable cars.

This is becoming a very popular Christmas gift. "We're starting to get the calls from wives - and husbands - of completely committed car nuts buying 2008 memberships for what must be the truly ultimate Christmas present," explains Nick Bailey of P1 North.

P1 pioneered the concept of shared access to supercars when Damon Hill and Michael Breen launched it in October 2000. P1 North members - who are from across the North of England and Scotland, and carefully vetted before being welcomed on board - can pay an extra £3,000 and agree to separate terms and conditions to enable them to get their hands on the SLR.

The annual fee buys points, which are exchanged for driving time in cars throughout the membership year. The number of points used on a booking is dependent on the car's group, the season and the day of the week. In return for an annual membership fee the club takes care of depreciation, maintenance, insurance and storage leaving members free to enjoy cars.

Well, that’s Christmas sorted except one small problem. I live in the South.
