Formula ones hottest property, Jenson Button is to move from BAR to Williams next season, the racing tean said today
The 24 year old started his career with the team in 2000 before moving to Benneton, Renault, and his curent team BAR and he says he is "pleased with the opportunity" but that for now, the 2004 championship has his full attention.
Reports say Button has signed the two year deal with Williams for the seasons beyond 2005 and Williams team chief Frank Williams said: "I am delighted that one of the most talented drivers in Formula One has accepted the opportunity to return to the team."
Button will join new Austrailian team mate Mark Webber, who moves from Jaguar, in a new-look Williams line-up next season and the pair will replace German Ralf Schumacher and Columbian Ralf Pablo Montoya who will move to Toyota and Maclaren respectively.
Williams is currently placed foruth in the constructors champinships. 29 points behind 3rd place BAR. After a superb season, Button lies third in the drivers championship with 61 points. He says ""Beyond this, I have every confidence that the massive investment in resources and the depth of talent at Williams and BMW provides the best platform for my future ambitions to be a world champion."
