Andrea Riseborough

Andrea Riseborough

The thriller is based on the novel by Tom Bradby, who has adapted his own novel into a screenplay, and directed by James Marsh.

Shadow Dancer sees Riseborough team up with Clive Owen and Gillian Anderson as her impressive body of work continues to grow.

Riseborough kicked off her career in TV with the likes of Party Animals and The Devil's Whore before making the successful transition to movies.

And while she landed small roles in movies such as Never Let Me Go and Made in Dagenham it was movie Brighton Rock where she really made her breakthrough.

The movie mixed elements of film noir and British gangster movies and saw the young actress star with Helen Mirren and Sam Riley.

It was a great performance from Riseborough playing the innocent Rose who falls for the manipulative lead character of Pinkie - played by Riley.

It was a performance that made everyone sit up and take note and since then Riseborough has continued her climb up the ladder.

She followed that up with Resistance before starring as Wallis Simpson in Madonna's latest directorial effort W.E.

W.E. hit the big screen earlier this year and, while there were good performances from all involved, it was perhaps the direction of the movie that ultimately let it down.

Shadow Dancer sees her tackle in drama/thriller in what is her second movie of 2012 - and we are set to be seeing plenty more her.

Riseborough has already completed work on Disconnect - the feature film directorial debut for Henry Alex Rubin.

The movie stars Alexander Skarsgard, Jason Bateman and Paula Patton - the film is set to hit the big screen next year.

Welcome To The Punch is another project in the pipeline which will see Riseborough team up with James McAvoy and Mark Strong.

Directed by Eran Creevy and follows a notorious criminal forced to return to London, which gives a detective one last chance to take down the man he's always been after.

And if that isn't enough she has just finished work on Oblivion which also stars Tom Cruise and Morgan Freeman.

Andrea Riseborough is an exciting talent to watch out for and she is steadily making a name for herself both sides of the pond.

Shadow Dancer is released 24th August
