Captain America & Iron Man

Chris Evans only took on the role of Captain America for the first time last year in Captain America - The First Avenger but he is back this week in Avengers Assemble.

But Steve Rogers is facing more problems that the threat of Loki as he has woke up in 21st Century New York, a time and a place where he doesn't belong.

Steve Rogers is a man who just wants to do fight and protect his country during World War II but is deemed unfit for military service due to his frailty.

But because of his selflessness he is recruited as part of a super-solider experiment by Dr. Abraham Erskine.

Rogers is turned into a super-soldier, taller, stronger, faster and eventually, along with a select group of men, is able to fight the war and try and stop Johann Schmidt.

But when a mission to stop Schmidt goes wrong Rogers is forced to ditch an airplane into the Arctic to save America from destruction.

It's not until present day that the aircraft is discovered under the ice.

Captain America is now called back into action as part of the Avengers alongside Iron Man, Thor, Hawkeye, the Hulk and Black Widow as Loki sets about the destruction of Earth.

Rogers finds himself not only having to find a place in a new world but also a place within the Avengers.

Captain America first appeared in a Marvel comic back in 1941 and was the creation of Joe Simon and Jack Kirby.
