Footloose

Footloose

Footloose became somewhat of a dance classic when it was released back in 1984 and Kevin Bacon will forever be known as Ren McCormack.

But 2011 sees Footloose get a twenty first century makeover as Kenny Wormald steps into some very famous dancing shoes.

Yes get ready to tap your feet to the forever catchy Kenny Loggins tune as director Craig Brewer brings a new version of an old classic to the silver screen.

Ren MacCormack (Wormald) is transplanted from Boston to the small southern town of Bomont where he experiences a heavy dose of culture shock.

A few years prior, the community was rocked by a tragic accident that killed five teenagers after a night out and Bomont's local councilmen and the beloved Reverend Shaw Moore (Dennis Quaid) responded by implementing ordinances that prohibit loud music and dancing.

Not one to bow to the status quo, Ren challenges the ban, revitalizing the town and falling in love with the minister's troubled daughter Ariel (Julianne Hough) in the process.

Wormald is a newcomer in every sense of the word as Footloose is his first proper acting role, having been a dancer in You Got Served and Jackass 2.

He is joined on the cast list by experienced talent such as Dennis Quaid and Andie MacDowell while Julianne Hough and Miles Teller are just two more upcoming faces.

Footloose is released 14th October. Take a look at the second trailer for the movie:
