Despite being a brilliant scientist Robert Neville (Will Smith) could not contain an incurable and manmade virus that swept through the human race.Somehow immune to the virus Neville is the last surviving human in the city - maybe even the world. But Neville is not alone. He is surrounded by the infected victims of the virus.They have been turned into carnivorous beasts who live only in the dark eating or infecting anything or anyone in it's path.Neville has spent the last three years scavenging for food and supplies while sending out radio messages in a bid to reach anyone else who may have survived.But the infected watch Neville's ever move waiting for him to make a mistake so they can strike.As mankind's last and only hope Neville is determined to discover a way to reverse the effects of the virus by using his own immune blood.

However his blood is what the infected are hunting for Neville is outnumbered and running out of time.
