Naomi Watts in The Impossible

Naomi Watts in The Impossible

2012 has been a very quiet year for Naomi Watts as she has just one movie outing with J.Edgar.

But do not worry Watts fans, of which I am one, as the Oscar nominated has a whole host of projects hitting the big screen over the next twelve months.

Her movie year kicks off in style with the release of the epic The Impossible - which is directed by Juan Antonio Bayona.

The film follows the true story of a family who get caught the Tsunami during their holiday to Thailand in 2004.

The Impossible is a movie that is tremendous achievement not only does it look fantastic but it captures the harrowing nature of the event.

This is a powerful and emotional drama that sees the cast deliver some knockout performances.

Watts is joined on the cast list by Ewan McGregor while Tom Holland makes his big screen debut as Lucas.

From hard hitting drama Watts moves on to Movie 43 at the end of January as she is part of one of the best ensemble casts of 2013.

Watts is just one of the big names that will star as Hugh Jackman, Emma Stone, Halle Berry and Kate Winslet are all also set tot star.

Two Mothers sees Watts team up with Robin Wright bring Doris Lessing's novel to the big screen.

Directed by Anne Fontaine the movie follows a pair of childhood friends and neighbours fall for each other's sons.

Ben Mendelsohn and Xavier Samuel will take on the roles of the two sons in what is set to be a tense and emotional family drama.

Watts goes from one family drama to another with Sunlight Jr. which is directed by Laurie Collyer.

The movie is the first directorial outing for Collyer since Sherrybaby back in 2007.

Sunlight Jr follows a couple who discover they are unexpectedly pregnant but face problems as they only have minimum wage jobs.

But the movie the Watts movie that everyone is looking forward to in 2013 is Diana in which the actress plays Princess Diana.

Directed by Oliver Hirschbiegel the movie follows the last two years of Diana's life and the relationships that she had in that time.

The early images from the movie show Watts looking absolutely fantastic as Diana and it promises to be one of the biopic movies not to miss next year.

So if you are a Naomi Watts fan then you are in for a major treat next year as we are going to see show what a great actress she is.

The Impossible is released 1st January
