Shame

Shame

Michael Fassbender has already had an excellent 2011 and that looks set to continue on into 2012 as Shame is about to hit the big screen.

Yes Fassbender has already won Best Actor at the Venice Film Festival for his central performance and will battle it out for the same awards at the Golden Globes in the new year - an award he could very well get his hands on.

Shame sees the actor reunite with filmmaker Steve McQueen for the first time since the critically acclaimed Hunger, the role that really announced Fassbender as a talent to watch out for, back in 2008.

And Fassbender is joined on the cast list by Oscar nominated actress Carey Mulligan as well as James Badge Dale.

Brandon (Fassbender) is a 30-something man living in New York who is unable to manage his sex life.

After his wayward younger sister (Mulligan) moves into his apartment, Brandon’s world spirals out of control.

Shame looks set to be one of the first big critical hit of 2012 and we could be seeing Fassbender feature very heavily on the awards circuit over the coming weeks.

Shame is released 13th January.
