Skyfall

Skyfall

We edge closer to finding out what FemaleFirst's Best Movie of 2012 today as we enter the top three.

And in at number three is the best Bond movie of all time in the form of Skyfall.

Now I think it is all fair to say that Quantum of Solace was a disappointment back in 2008 and Bond fans have had a torturous four year want for the twenty third movie in the franchise.

But boy was it worth it as Daniel Craig was back as 007 for his third outing as the super spy as he reunited with director Sam Mendes.

Bond's loyalty to M is tested as her past comes back to haunt her. As MI6 comes under attack, 007 must track down and destroy the threat, no matter how personal the cost.

Skyfall really is the best Bond to hit the big screen and it sees the franchise get itself back on track.

This is a movie that both nods back to the past as well as looks to the future as director Sam Mendes blends the old and the new wonderfully.

Daniel Craig has never been better in this role than he is here as he shows a ferocious side to his character as well as a more human side than ever before.

He takes full possession of this role and gets his teeth into this character and his afflictions like never before.

Craig has always had a real presence in this role and he takes that to an even greater level this time - his scenes with Javier Bardem have a real power to them.

Bardem is simply fantastic as Silva as he brings a modern day menace to the role as well as having the eccentricity of the Bond villains of old.

The way that Bond and Silva banter just sets the screen alight as they discover they are more than a match for one another.

It is also great see more of Judi Dench as M than ever before and she is more than just the one that gives Bond order this time around.

There is a real bond between 007 and M and it is touching to see how that has developed over the three movies.

It stays respectful to the movies that have gone before it but takes the character and the franchise into new and exciting territory.

If future Bond movies are going to be as good as this then lets hope we don’t have to wait another four years to see it.
