The Great Gatsby

The Great Gatsby

A Baz Luhrmann movie is always something to get excited about as he does epic and lavish like no other filmmaker.

He will be making his return to the director's chair in the spring as he brings his version of The Great Gatsby to the big screen - and it is a movie that we are already looking forward to at FemaleFirst.

If you are looking forward to the movie we have a brand new trailer for you to check out:

Leonardo DiCaprio has delivered some knockout performances over the last few years to go from pin-up to Hollywood heavyweight and he looks set to do that all over again.

He takes on the role of Jay Gatsby in the movie and you can tell from this trailer that he is set to have a real presence in this film.

The Great Gatsby will be the first time that Luhrmann and DiCaprio have worked together since Romeo and Juliet and this is the first film for the director since Australia.

Carey Mulligan looks fantastic as she takes on the role Daisy Buchanan while Tobey Maguire, Isla Fisher and Joel Edgerton are all also set to star.

Nick Carraway (Maguire) leaves the Midwest and comes to New York City in the spring of 1922, an era of loosening morals, glittering jazz and bootleg kings.

Chasing his own American Dream, Nick lands next door to a mysterious, party-giving millionaire, Jay Gatsby, and across the bay from his cousin, Daisy, and her philandering, blue-blooded husband, Tom Buchanan (Edgerton).

It is thus that Nick is drawn into the captivating world of the super-rich, their illusions, loves and deceits.

As Nick bears witness, within and without the world he inhabits, he pens a tale of impossible love, incorruptible dreams and high-octane tragedy, and holds a mirror to our own modern times and struggles.

The Great Gatsby is set to be a lavish, visually beautiful and exciting movie as F.Scott Fitzgerald's popular story is brought to life by some incredibly talented actors.

Every year we see a whole host of books adapted for the big screen and The Great Gatsby is already promising to be one of the best of 2013.

The Great Gatsby is released 17th May.
