Ben Affleck in Argo

Ben Affleck in Argo

Ben Affleck's Argo is one of the most talked about movies of the autumn as the actor returns to the director's chair for the first time since The Town.

The Oscars may be a little while off but this thriller from Affleck is already being touted as one of the possible contenders.

Affleck may have only directed two movies prior to Argo but he has already established himself as a very excited filmmaker.

And we have the trailer for the movie for you to take a quick look at:

The movie is based on true events and sees Affleck lead and all star and very exciting cast.

He is joined by Bryan Cranston, Taylor Schilling, John Goodman, Alan Arkin and Kyle Chandler.

On November 4, 1979, as the Iranian revolution reaches its boiling point, militants storm the U.S. embassy in Tehran, taking 52 Americans hostage.

But, in the midst of the chaos, six Americans manage to slip away and find refuge in the home of the Canadian ambassador.

Knowing it is only a matter of time before the six are found out and likely killed, a CIA "exfiltration" specialist named Tony Mendez (Affleck) comes up with a risky plan to get them safely out of the country.

We have been treated to some great political thrillers over the last few years and this drama looks set to be another movie to add to that ever growing list.

Ben Affleck's Argo looks set to be one of the autumn movies not to be missed as he looks to excel behind the camera once more.

Argo is released 9th November
