12 Years A Slave

12 Years A Slave

The Bafta winners will be announced later today, and it is set to be one of most fiercely fought Bafta awards that we have seen for some time.

It is really on the Best Actress category where we have had a runaway winner during the awards season, for all the other categories it really is up for grabs.

FemaleFirst is excited to see who wins what and we are putting out money where our mouth it and predicting where the winners are going to come from.

I do expect 12 Years A Slave to do incredibly well and it should scoop the Best Picture award; this film should win the Best Picture Oscar hands down in my view.

While the Best Picture category is packed with great movies such as Gravity, American Hustle, Captain Phillips, and Philomena, none of them come close to the power of 12 Years A Slave.

I also expect to see Chiwetel Ejiofor to pick up the Leading Actor gong for his performance as Solomon Northup.

I also think that Michael Fassbender and Lupita Nyong’o will scoop the Supporting Actor and Supporting Actress awards for their roles in the film.

Cate Blanchett has dominated the awards circuit in recent weeks for her performance in Blue Jasmine. While I would personally love to see Judi Dench win, I think Blanchett will be victorious.

Gravity is another movie with a whole host of nominations, and I expect the movie to triumph in the Outstanding British Film category.

The Best Director gong is a two-way fight between Alfonso Cuaron and Steve McQueen; Cuaron could well come out on top.

Also expect Gravity to feature heavily in the technical awards; there should be only one winner when it comes to special effects.
