Blue Jasmine

Blue Jasmine

Blue Jasmine has already been whipping up a bit of an Oscar buzz as the fantastic Cate Blanchett returns to the big screen.

Blue Jasmine is the latest film from writer/director Woody Allen, as he teams up with Oscar winning Blanchett for the very first time.

And more awards success could be coming the way of both Blanchett and Allen as Blue Jasmine is a movie being tipped as one to watch out for when the award nominations start rolling in.

This is a movie that we are excited to see and we have a trio of fantastic new clips from the film for you to check out:

We haven't seen Blanchett on the big screen since The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, but she takes on the central character of Jasmine; a woman who is having a bit of a mid-life crisis.

Blanchett is joined by an all star cast as Alec Baldwin, Peter Sarsgaard, Sally Hawkins and Louis C.K are all on board.

After everything in her life falls to pieces, including her marriage to wealthy businessman Hal (Baldwin), elegant New York socialite Jasmine (Blanchett) moves into her sister Ginger’s (Hawkins) modest apartment in San Francisco to try to pull herself back together again.

Jasmine’s flaw is that she derives her worth from the way she’s perceived by others, while she herself is blind to what is going around her.

Delicately portrayed by a regal Cate Blanchett, Jasmine earns our compassion because she is the unwitting instrument of her own downfall.

Blanchett is one of the best actresses in Hollywood and she delivers another knockout performance that has the critics raving.

Allen has made some very charming movies throughout his career and Blue Jasmine is another winner. This is a film not to be missed this autumn.

Blue Jasmine is released 27th September.
