There's not long to go now until Joy hits the big screen and I cannot wait to see Jennifer Lawrence in action in this great new drama.

Joy

Joy

It is always exciting when a Lawrence movie is on the horizon and this will be her first film since The Hunger Game franchise came to a close.

The movie sees the Oscar winner reunite with filmmaker David O. Russell for their third project together - they have already brought us Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle - and I cannot wait to see them collaborate once again.

Lawrence my take on the central role of Joy in the film, but it is Robert De Niro who steals the show in this terrific new clip from the film:

Joy is one big reunion as Robert De Niro and Bradley Cooper - who also appeared in Silver Linings Playbook and American Hustle - are part of the very exciting cast list.

De Niro is set to play Lawrence's father in the film and they are joined by Edgar Ramirez, Isabella Rossellini, Diane Ladd, and Virginia Madsen - it really is a very exciting and super talented cast list.

Joy is the wild story of a family across four generations centred on the girl who becomes the woman who founds a business dynasty and becomes a matriarch in her own right. Betrayal, treachery, the loss of innocence and the scars of love, pave the road in this intense emotional and human comedy about becoming a true boss of family and enterprise facing a world of unforgiving commerce.

Allies become adversaries and adversaries become allies, both inside and outside the family, as Joy's inner life and fierce imagination carry her through the storm she faces.

2016 is promising to be another very exciting movie year and Lawrence will get it off to a flying start with Joy. It is great to see her back in a character driven drama.

Joy is released 1st January 2016.
