Allied forces stood on the south coast of Britain, gearing up for the invasion of Nazi-occupied Europe, awaiting the go-ahead from Churchill who was at the time fearful of repeating his World War I mistakes. Exhausted by the years of war he had faced, along with crippling depression and an obsession to fulfil historical greatness, it’s down to Churchill’s wife Clementine to stop his physical and mental collapse, aiding her husband on the path to making great history.

Now in a brand new and exclusive clip for Female First, Ella Purnell takes the spotlight as Churchill’s secretary Helen; a woman clearly unafraid to stand up to those who would be regarded her superior if she feels they’re overstepping their mark. Check out the brilliant clip below:

Churchill hits cinemas across the UK on Friday, June 16.
