Dave Franco

Dave Franco

Dave Franco is back on the big screen this week as part of the ensemble cast of magic movie Now You See Me.

Since making his TV and big screen debut back in 2006 Franco has been making a name for himself with a wide range of projects on both the big and small screen.

And as his acting career begins to gather pace he really is someone to keep a close eye on.

In 2006 Franco made his small screen debut in 7th Heaven and went on to appear in other shows such as Do Not Disturb and Greek.

But his biggest TV role came in 2009 when he landed the role of Cole Aaronson in hit medical comedy Scrubs; it would be a role he would play for all thirteen episodes of season nine.

While a film career usually follows after some TV project Franco found himself juggling big and small screen roles all at the same time.

He made his big screen debut in 2006 with Frat Bros before going on to appear in the likes of Superbad, After Sex The Shortcut.

In recent years the movie roles have got bigger for Franco and he joined Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill in comedy 21 Jumps Street.

The movie was a big screen adaptation of the hit eighties TV show and saw Franco take on the role of Eric Molson; a high school student and drug dealer.

21 Jump Street was a box office smash and was one of the best comedy movies of 2012.

We have already seen Franco on the big screen this year as he starred in Warm Bodies with Nicholas Hoult and Teresa Palmer.

Directed by Jonathan Levine the movie was an adaptation of the novel of the same name by Isaac Marison.

Now he is back with latest film Now You See Me, which sees him team up with director Louis Leterrier.

The movie follows four magicians 'The Four Horsemen' - of which Franco is one -
who pull off bank heists during their performances and reward their audiences with the money.

Franco is part of a fantastic ensemble cast as Jesse Eisenberg, Isla Fisher, Woody Harrelson, Mark Ruffalo, Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman are all on board.

Now You See Me looks set to be one of the movies not to miss this week as it offers a welcome respite from all of the CGI driven summer blockbusters.

And the next time that we see Franco on the big screen will be next year in comedy Townies.

The movie will see Nicholas Stoller in the director's chair while Zac Efron, Seth Rogen, Rose Byrne and Christopher Mintz-Plasse are all on the cast list.

At the age of twenty eight Dave Franco is starting to make a real name for himself and his star is only set to rise further over the next couple of years... watch this space.

Now You See Me is released 3rd July.
