Don Jon

Don Jon

Don Jon marks the feature film directorial debut of Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and it is a movie that has been performing well on the festival circuit all year.

Gordon-Levitt is not only in the director's chair for this film but has also written the screenplay and lead the cast list.

The movie will be screening at the BFI London Film Festival next week and is set to be one of the must see dramas of the autumn.

Here is the brand new trailer for the film for you to take a look at:

Don Jon premiered at the Sundance Film Festival at the beginning of the year and is set to be unlike any other romantic comedy that we have seen so far this year.

Scarlett Johansson, Julianne Moore and Tony Danza all join Gordon-Levitt on the cast list - it really is an impressive line-up.

Jon Martello (Gordon-Levitt) is a strong, handsome, good old fashioned guy.  His buddies call him Don Jon due to his ability to "pull" a different woman every weekend, but even the finest fling doesn't compare to the bliss he finds alone in front of the computer watching pornography.

Barbara Sugarman (Johansson) is a bright, beautiful, good old fashioned girl.  Raised on romantic Hollywood movies, she's determined to find her Prince Charming and ride off into the sunset.

Wrestling with good old fashioned expectations of the opposite sex, Jon and Barbara struggle against a media culture full of false fantasies to try and find true intimacy in this unexpected comedy

This is a movie that has been winning over the critics, and it seems that Gordon-Levitt is more than at home in the director's chair: this really could be the start of a very successful filmmaking career.

Don Jon is released 15th November.
