The world of movies is hugely saturated with comic book films and superheroes as of late, with countless big screen releases set for the years to come, including this year’s Wonder Woman, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Justice League and Thor: Ragnarok. They’re just some of what fans should expect, but if we could have our pick of the crop of comic book characters we’ve come to love, who would we like to see on the big screen? Here are five ideas…

5. Tim Drake aka Robin

Our favourite Robin by a long stretch, Tim Drake has an incredible amount of awareness and an intelligent mind for someone so young. Despite originally being somewhat of an adversary to Batman, in that his main mission was to seek out the true identity of the Dark Knight so he could become the next Robin, it’s his attitude that gets him a place on our list. More complicated than most, we’d love to see this Robin get his own movie, but please – NO MORE ORIGIN STORIES!

4. Green Arrow

Though Stephen Amell is doing an incredible job as Oliver Queen on The CW as the Green Arrow, he’s somebody we’d love to see on the big screen. We’d even be behind bringing Amell’s version to cinemas, allowing him to expand on his legacy as the character and one of the modern day’s most popular superhero actors. Perhaps when all is said and done and Arrow comes to an end, it should be topped off with a movie theatre release?

3. Barbara Gordon aka Oracle

If there’s a female superhero we would love to see in live action, it’s Barbara Gordon as Oracle. Paralysed by Joker, she could give some incredibly compelling and emotional scenes, with flashbacks to her time as Batgirl scattered throughout.

2. Bucky Barnes

He’s technically already on the big screen through the various Captain America movies, but Bucky Barnes deserves his own solo outing. He’s a fan-favourite character and so we imagine the conversations have already been taking place behind-the-scenes at movie studios; now it’s time to make it happen!

1. Big Barda

There’s no female character more interesting than Big Barda who hasn’t yet been allowed a release on the big screen. Having served as the leader of Darkseid’s personal guard, she’s one of the world’s greatest warriors, and fled the dark world of Apokolips when she found love with future husband Mr. Miracle. Since then she’s made Earth her home, serving at times as a member of the Justice League. That doesn’t mean she hasn’t still got enemies, however…
