Sebastian Stan to star in movie with Julianne Moore

Sebastian Stan, who is best known for his role as Bucky Barnes, aka The Winter Soldier, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), will be joining Kingsman: The Golden Circle villain Julianne Moore in new con artist drama.

The film, titled Sharper, is said to follow a con artist (Moore) as she worked her way through the billionaires of Manhattan. Max (Stan), a conman with a talent for complex schemes gets pulled into another job.

While further details on the movie, and even the name of Moore’s character are yet to be revealed, we can say for sure that this duo will be interesting to watch.

The film comes from A24 and Apple, suggesting that this film will be an Apple TV+ release; there is no release date yet, but we will be keeping our eyes on this one.

Knives out 2 reveals filming update

Writer and director of the upcoming whodunit movie, Rian Johnson, has taken to Twitter to talk about a filming update on the highly-anticipated murder mystery sequel, Knives Out 2.

The first film, which came out in 2019, focused on a family after a death occurs in the home. Daniel Craig played Benoit Blanc, a private detective, who tries to figure out who committed a murder among many possible suspects.

Around a month after the movie began production, Johnson has stated that the film is halfway done, and has finished filming in Greece. With seemingly only one part of the film taking place in Greece, we have to wonder where Mr. Blanc will be headed, and why...

Knives Out 2 is expected to land on Netflix in 2022.

Trailer for House of Gucci is released

The trailer for upcoming thriller, House of Gucci, has been unveiled, and shows Lady Gaga and Adam Driver’s twisted story.

The upcoming feature, directed by Ridley Scott, follows the famous Italian family and its dark and unsettling past. Gaga will be playing Patrizia Reggiani, while Driver takes on the role of Maurizio Gucci; the pair are joined by Jared Leto, Al Pacino, Jermery Irons, Salma Hayek and more.

Based in the 2001 book by Sara Gay Forden, the feature will tell the tale of Reggiani, who ordered the death of her ex-husband, Maurizio Gucci; the film will explore the events leading up to the murder, and what happened after.

House of Gucci will be in cinemas on November 4th, 2021, followed by a Paramount+ release.

Kraven the Hunter eyeing Jodie Turner-Smith for role

Sony film Kraven the Hunter, which has Aaron Taylor-Johnson in the role as Kraven, is reportedly discussing casting The Illuminerdi actress Jodie Turner-Smith to play the role of Calypso.

The film is expected to be in cinemas in early 2023, and continues on Sony’s story set within their own superhero universe. Kraven is a recognizable villain for Spider-Man (in the comics), and tends to have his own team of supporters, one of which being Calypso.

While there aren’t many details being passed around, we can expect the role of Calypso to be a big one within the movie; we can’t wait to see Sony’s version of Kraven and Calypso, whoever may be playing her.

Jungle Cruise receives mixed reviews

Critics who have seen Emily Blunt and Dwayne Johnson’s newest feature, Jungle Cruise, can’t seem to agree about whether the movie is a success or a flop.

The Disney film, similar to Pirates of the Caribbean (2003), was adapted from a theme park ride, and tells the story of Bunt’s character Lily as she travels with Johnson’s skipper character to find a tree with healing powers.

The movie has been criticised for relying to much on CGI and being too similar to films like the Indiana Jones franchise. The only thing that many seem to agree on, is that Jungle Cruise is a fun film for younger viewers.

This sadly doesn’t make up for the characters’ not risking anything, making the movie a pretty safe bet.

Ant Man actor unsure if he will return for third movie

David Dastmalchian, who has appeared in DC film The Dark Knight (2008) and plays Polka-Dot Man in The Suicide Squad (2021), is unsure whether or not he will be returning for the third Ant-Man movie.

Dastmalchian played Kurt in both Ant-Man films, alongside Paul Rudd who plays the titular role of Scott Lang. Despite filming having begun on Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, the actor is still undecided about his return to the franchise.

With Dastmalchian busy with press regarding the new DC film The Suicide Squad, and with him only having a minor role in the MCU, he still isn’t sure about his return; although with filming underway, he should make a decision rather soon.

Taika Waititi’s Flash Gordon film will be live-action

After Taika Waititi was hired to develop an animated Flash Gordon film two years ago, a producer has said that it will now be live-action.

Waititi has had a brilliant career; directing Thor: Ragnarok in 2017, as well as starring in the film as Korg, a character adored by fans. He also directed Jojo Rabbit and played the role of (imaginary) Hitler.

With little success in getting Flash Gordon back to a popular icon, Waititi was hired to create an animated feature which, of course, will now be live-action. While he is writing the script he hasn’t agreed to sit in the director’s chair just yet; let’s hope Waititi decides to bring Flash Gordon to life with his own unique ideas.
