Monsters University

Monsters University

One of the movies that I am not sure whether I am looking forward to or not is Monsters University - and that is because I am such a huge fan of the first film.

It was back in 2001 that we were introduced to the characters of James P, Sullivan and Mike Wazowski for the very first time and now they are back.

Yes twelve years on and the sequel is finally here - well actually it is more like a prequel as it is set in their university days.

Dan Scanlon has taken over the director's chair this time around in what is only his second directorial outing.

Monsters University is his first feature length animation movie; however he did team up with John Lasseter for short Mater and the Ghostlight.

Up director Pete Docter and Finding Nemo filmmaker Andrew Stanton temporarily leave the comfort of the director's chair to pen the screenplay for the movie - so we know these much loved characters are in good hands.

Billy Crystal and John Goodman are back as Mike and Sulley while Helen Mirren and Steve Buscemi are just some of the other actors lending their voices to the project.

Crystal and Goodman make such a good comedy pair and it is great to see them returning to these great characters - not to mention the new movie will bring a new dimension to their relationship which will be interesting to see play out.

Mike Wazowski and James P. Sullivan are an inseparable pair, but that wasn’t always the case.

From the moment these two mismatched monsters met they couldn't stand each other.

Monsters University unlocks the door to how Mike and Sulley overcame their differences and became the best of friends.

Summer is not complete without a Pixar movie and over the years we have been treated to some real gems that have lit up the big screen.

Monsters University is the fourteenth film by Pixar and it could well be the biggest animation hit of the year.
