21 Jump Street

21 Jump Street has ended the two week reign of The Lorax at the top of the U.S. box office.

The movie is a big screen take on the popular eighties TV show and sees Jonah Hill team up with Channing Tatum.

The movie took $35 million in it's opening weekend to comfortably topple The Lorax, the latest Dr Seuss story to the adapted for the big screen.

The animation movie only dropped a single place as it took a further $22.8 million.

John Carter was also down a single place at three while Project X also fell one at four.

Eddie Murphy's latest movie A Thousand Words was up one place from last week's six to round off the top five.

Act Of Valour fell two place to seven while Safe House, which sees Denzel Washington team up with Ryan Reynolds, stayed put at seven.

Journey 2: The Mysterious Island continues to do well at the box office as it was up two places to eight.

Casa De Mi Padre, which is the new movie from Will Ferrell, was the second and final new entry inside the top ten this week at number nine.

This Means War fell a single place to round off this week's top ten movies.
