Billy Boyd is completely broke.
The Scottish star played lovable Hobbit Peregrin 'Pippin' Took in the hit movies, which generated a massive $2.7 billion in profits - but Boyd admits he is still a struggling actor.
He says, "I don't have any money. We were unknown actors. We did it for peanuts (very little money), and for food."
And the 41 year old has begun to accept that shooting the trilogy in New Zealand could be the peak of his career.
He added: "Once you get in your head that you're not going to do anything bigger, you just do things that you enjoy."
Despite his money worries the actor does have work in the pipeline including The Witches of Oz 3D. which sees him work alongside Christopher Lloyd and Sean Astin, Glenn, The flying Robot and The Lion Inside.
