Brendan Gleeson he loved working in his native Ireland for new movie and would love to work at home more... but only if the script is good.
The actor is back on the big screen this week in new movie The Guard, a film that entered teh UK box office chart despite only being on release in Ireland.
The movie was shot in Connemara but he says that shooting at home was not the reason why he took on the movie.
Speaking to the Belfast Telegraph the actor said: "If the script is not up to it then I don't work at home, that's it.
"If we haven't the chance of making something proper, I don't care where the script is going to be shot.
"But to have a script of that quality, and then to have the chance to have it at home, and with such a spectacular sense of place... that sense of place comes so particularly strongly out in the movie."
The Guard is released 19th August.
