Foo Fighters

Foo Fighters are set to give fans a glimpse into the workings of the rock band in a new behind-the-scenes documentary.

The Everlong hitmakers, fronted by former Nirvana drummer Dave Grohl, have teamed up with Oscar-winning director James Moll to create a full-length picture, which will tell the story of the band's 18-year career.

The film will begin by chronicling Grohl's time in Nirvana and the subsequent formation of the Foo Fighters, and continues up until the making of their latest album, which is due for release later this year (11).

Grohl says in a statement, "In October of 1994, I walked into Robert Lang's Seattle studio with a guitar, a drum set, a bass and 14 songs I thought nobody would ever hear.

"Five days later, I walked out with the first Foo Fighters record. Sixteen years (sic) and seven studio albums later, with the help of Academy Award winning director James Moll, we're finally able to tell the story of how that one demo cassette turned into the band that we are today.''

The film will premier at the SXSW music festival in Austin, Texas in March (11).
