George Clooney has revealed that he would like to direct more movies.

The actor will be back in the director's chair next week for his movie The Ides of March, which he also wrote and stars in.

The movie is his first directorial outing since Leatherheads and the actor was at the BFI London Film Festival earlier this week to promote the film.

And while there are still plenty of acting roles for Clooney, he is also starring in The Descendants, he admitted that he wants to work behind the camera more.

Speaking to The Press Association the actor said: "Hopefully, the trend is towards directing more because as we all know, the older you get, the less and less roles there are to play.

"And I want to be part of this business for a long time. I probably will soon. You get old, so you have to do other things."

Both The Ides of March and The Descendants, which is directed by Alexander Payne, are getting plenty of early Oscar attention - more nominees could be coming his way in the new year.

The Ides of March is released 28th October
