Gnomeo and Juliet has moved up two places to take the top spot at the American box office, seeing of the challenge from Hall Pass.

The animated take on the classic story Romeo and Juliet took a further $14.2 million over the weekend to be this week's #1 movie.

Owen Wilson's new comedy Hall Pass has top settle for second as it took $13.4 million in it's opening weekend.

A married man is granted the opportunity to have an affair by his wife. Joined in the fun by his best pal, things get a little out of control when both wives start engaging in extramarital activities as well.

Unknown, which was last week's number one, fell two places to number three while comedy Just Go With It held onto fourth.

I Am Number Four also fell this week as it dropped three places from number two to round off the top five.

Justin Bieber: Never Say Never held fast at six while there was also no movement at seven for The King's Speech, which enjoyed huge Oscar success last night.

Big Mommas House 3 was another three place faller as it was down from five to eight. The second and final new entry in the top ten this week came in the form of Drive Angry 3D, which was in at nine.
