The Master

The Master

The awards season is officially underway as the Gotham Independent Film Awards announced its nominees.

Early Oscar favourites such as The Silver Lining Playbook and The master are amongst the nominees.

The Master is the early favourite for the Best Feature gong but it has some tough competition from the likes of Moonrise Kingdom, Middle of Nowhere, The Loneliest Planet and Bernie.

Bernie and Moonrise Kingdom are also nominated for Best Ensemble Performance alongside Safety Not Guaranteed, Silver Lining's Playbook and Your Sister's Sister.

Quvenzhane Wallis is one of the new talents of 2012 that everyone has been talking about and she is being tipped as a possible Oscar contender for her role in Beasts of the Southern Wild.
