Joe Manganiello

Joe Manganiello has revealed that he liked working on the set of Magic Mike because there was a real sense of humour amongst the cast.

The actor joins Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughey and Alex Pettyfer on the cast list of Steven Soderbergh's new movie - which is inspired by Tatum's experiences as a stripper before he became an actor.

And the actor admits that no one took themselves seriously during the shoot and it was a lot of fun.

Speaking to Flicks and Bits the actor said: "I think what's great about the guys in this movie specifically - and I think if you had a different group of guys you probably would have got a different feel, it would have been a different movie - this particular group of guys that's been assembled for Magic Mike, they're all the 'sexy guys' from their corners of the universe.

"But nobody takes themselves that seriously at all, whether it's Channing Tatum, Matthew McConaughey, Matt Bomer, Alex Pettyfer, Kevin Nash, Adam Rodriguez, me, whoever.

"There's a real sense of humour to [the movie], both situationally and I think internally. Everybody's really funny in it, I think."

It's been a busy year already for the actor as he also starred in What To Expect When You're Expecting as well as reprising the role of Alcide Herveaux in True Blood.

Magic Mike is released 11th July.
