Matthew Goode

Matthew Goode

Matthew Goode as revealed that he shouldn't have been in graphic novel adaptation Watchmen.

The Brit star took on the role of Ozymandias in the movie and was cast when Zack Snyder couldn't land Jude Law for the role.

Speaking to Metro the actor said: There were many reasons I shouldn't have been cast in that film and I think people were quite p*ssed off. I'm lucky I don't own a computer.

"The negative feedback was relayed quite well by friends of mine: 'Oh my God, everyone hates you, man. It's awesome.'

"When I got there to start filming, all the artwork still had Jude Law's face on it, so I figured he was meant to be doing this but was too expensive. That was good for me."

Since starring in the superhero movie Goode has taken a break from the big screen, becoming a father in 2009.

But he returned earlier this month starring alongside Colin Firth and Julianne Moore in A Single Man.

He continues to mix his roles with his next project as he tackles the romantic comedy with Leap Year, which also stars Amy Adams.

He returns to British movies later this year when he stars in Ricky Gervais' Cemetery Junction.
