Morgan Freeman

Morgan Freeman says it's tough to find good scripts at the moment.

The actor is set to return to the big screen this autumn with Dolphin Tale, a movie which reunites him with Ashley Judd and also stars Harry Connick Jr.

But Freeman says that it is getting tougher and tougher to find high quality scripts as it's becoming difficult for writer to continuously produce good work.

When asked if it was hard trying to find a family friendly script the actor told Collider: "It’s hard to find a good script period. They’re just not falling out of the sky all over the place.

"Amazingly we don’t have a lot of great writers left because - and this is my opinion - there was so much demand that they get burned out. You can’t just sit down and continue to grind out good scripts, you won’t have it in you.

"So we’ve got blogs, we’ve got the internet, we got television we’ve got DVD. I mean the demand is just too high. So for a writer to sit down and come up with a good one now and again, they’re few and far between.

We haven't seen Freeman on the big screen since Red last year, although he did narrate Conan the Barbarian this summer. But he has already completed work on Wish Wizard and We the People and he is set to reprise the role of Lucius Fox in The Dark Knight Rises.

Dolphin Tale is released 14th October.
