Real Steel

Real Steel

Real Steel remained at the top of the U.S. box office for a second week, narrowly holding off Footloose.

The Hugh Jackman and Shawn Levy movie took a further $16.3 million this weekend but came under some serious pressure from the remake of the eighties classic.

Craig Brewer has brought Footloose back to the big screen with Kenny Wormald & Julianne Hough leading an all dancing cast.

City kid Ren MacCormack moves to a small town where rock 'n' roll and dancing have been banned, and his rebellious spirit shakes up the populace.

The movie took $16.1 million in it's opening weekend and just missed out on the top spot. The Thing was a second new entry at number three with $8.7 million.

The movie is not a remake of the John Carpenter classic but a sequel to the popular horror movie starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Joel Edgerton.

George Clooney's latest movie The Ides of March fell two places to number four while Dolphin Tales was also down two to five.

Moneyball, which stars Brad Pitt, was up two places this week from eight to six - the movie is already being talked about as an Oscar possibility.

50/50 was down three at seven while Courageous was also a faller this week as it dropped three places to eight.

The Big Year was the third and final new entry inside the top ten this week while The Lion King 3D was this week's biggest faller as it dropped four places to round off the top ten.
