Skandar Kenyes was forbidden from auditioning for 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe'.The 16-year-old was 12 when he landed the role of Edmund Pevensie but admits his parents didn't want him to take the role.Skandar revealed: "My parents told my agent not to send me to the audition, because they heard it meant six months in New Zealand. But then they went to Japan for 10 days and my granddad was taking care of me?"His mother, Zelfa Hourani, explained their decision, saying: "The fact that we would have to be away for six months on the other side of the world would have meant dividing our family - my first reaction was that it was out of the question."My daughter persuaded us by saying Skandar would never forgive us for passing u0p the chance of being in the film."Skandar's co-star, 12-year-old Georgie Henley admits her parents "considered withdrawing" her from the audition because of the disruption it could have caused when the actress was just eight years old.She added: "The director had to have dinner with my mum and dad to persuade them."

'Prince Caspian', the follow up to 'The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe' is released in cinemas later this month.
